Yes, yes, it was a very interesting weekend. I was cooking in the kitchen and did the mistake of all mistakes, I left the kitchen while cooking. Well, I get distracted rather easily and what I was working on in the kitchen caught fire. It is a really good thing that other people pay attention, because the billowing smoke caught their eye. Nobody got hurt, everyone is safe, there is just mainly smoke damage and some light electrical damage. The extractor fan's wiring got fried, the light in the hood of the stove completely disintegrated, not exactly what you call the most relaxing of weekends.
I love cooking, I always have. I just can't believe that I made a mistake that could have been so costly. Like I said, nobody got hurt, so that is fantastic, but arrrrrrrrrrrrr.
The frustration level was thru the roof this weekend. I was really beating myself up bigtime over it. I know I can't live in the past, and I can only deal with what's happened and go from there.
All things considered, I am much better now.
